ORDERING YOUR GOWN

All Melanie Jayne gowns are made in our design studio in Coffs Harbour, NSW Australia. Your gown is manufactured solely for you.


FULL COUTURE gowns are designed & manufactured to your specific requirements and are fitted to your body individually, including length.

DEMI COUTURE gowns are made to the closest size from our size chart and fitted through the back closure and hem length.

STANDARD size gowns are made to the size chosen from our size chart. All alterations are the responsibility of the customer.


DEPOSITS are not refundable and not transferable.

Full Couture or Demi Couture - 50% deposit.

Standard - *1st  installment payable at the time of order.

                   * 2nd installment is payable 6 weeks after the order date.

                   * 3rd installment is payable in 12 weeks on completion of your gown.


CANCELLATIONS

Gowns cannot be cancelled from our production line if it is no longer required or if you have changed your mind.  Your fabrics are purchased, cut and put aside in readiness to make your gown. Your garment is placed into the production queue straight away to avoid delays and to be able to deliery on time, it will still be completed and you will be required to pay the remainder of the gown.


MEASUREMENTS FOR FULL & DEMI COUTURE GOWNS

Your body measurements will be taken prior to production of your gown, if you are on a weight loss or fitness program, please tell us so we can allow for these changes. You gown may need to be started closer to your wedding date to allow for the change in body shape. It is not ideal to be altering your gown size during production but if changes are required there may be extra charges.


FITTINGS  FOR FULL & DEMI COUTURE GOWNS

You are required to attend a minimum of 3 fittings. Sometimes you will require more fittings depending on the design of the dress or if is a custom made design and new patterns are being made for you. You will need to wear the undergarments that you intend on wearing on your wedding day to all fittings. A change in undergarments during the fitting process means your dress will not fit correctly, therefore your gown may require extra alterations which will incur extra charges.


PAYMENT  FOR FULL & DEMI COUTURE GOWNS

Final payment is due on completion and final approval of your gown.


STORAGE  FOR FULL & DEMI COUTURE GOWNS

Melanie Jayne is able to store your gown up until the day before your wedding and provide any last minute preparations e.g steaming service at no extra cost.


ALTERATIONS

If the garment has been completed and has been given your approval, and you want/or require any changes made to your gown due to weight loss/gain, you will be responsible for any and all alterations.


MEASUREMENTS FOR STANDARD SIZE GOWNS

Your gown is made in a standard size according to the Melanie Jayne size chart. Your consultant will help you to make an informed decision in choosing the closest size to your body measurements. Melanie Jayne will not be held responsible for an incorrect size ordered or if you decide to choose a different size than what is recommended.

Basic body measurements are required for all gowns, (bust, waist, hips and length) however this is not the garment size when a standard size is chosen.  In this case alterations will most likely be needed and charges will apply accordingly.


NOTIFICATION  FOR STANDARD SIZE GOWNS

You will contacted when your gown is completed and ready for you to try on and collect or arrange for any in house alterations.


ALTERATIONS  FOR STANDARD SIZE GOWNS

If the garment has been completed  and you want or require any changes made to your gown, you will be responsible for any and all alterations costs. Alterations are recommended to be done as close to the wear date as possible (4 - 6 weeks prior) to ensure a perfect fit.

Melanie Jayne charges in Australia Dollars (AUD).

Gowns: All bridal gowns are made to order - 12 weeks , unless otherwise specified.

Shoes: in stock shipped within 24 hours, out of stock - shipped within 45 days

Veils: in stock shipped within 24 hours, out of stock - 8 weeks.

All delivery times are provided as estimates only. Melanie Jayne is not responsible for any delays caused or incurred by delivery services or international customs clearance processes.

Shipping

Postage/shipping is free within Australia for all products purchased through our internet store and does not include shipping outside Australia and international customs charges.

*Australia Post is our preferred postal agency Australia Wide

*Items will be dispatched with Australia Post on the next available business day, providing the item is in stock.

*You will be notified if any items need to be back ordered or if there are any delays in dispatching your order.


RETURNS/EXCHANGES

GOWNS

As all Melanie Jayne gowns are made to order exclusively for you, please work with us to choose your style, colour and size very carefully because we cannot offer any returns or exchanges on gowns, except in the unlikely case of significant manufacturing faults.

We hope that you love your Melanie Jayne gown as much as we do. However, sometimes a bride might change her mind before her dress is complete. If this is you, please note that production of your dress begins as soon as your deposit is paid, you will still be require to pay the remaining balance.

Faulty Items

*Items will be considered faulty if they are received damaged or have a manufacturing defect.

*Items damaged as a result of wear and tear are not considered faulty.

*Melanie Jayne gowns and accessories are handmade from natural silk, sometimes there can be natural flaws in the silk and slight abnormalities in the lace, embellishments, including one or two loose or missing beads. Slight inconsistency in the weave or colour of the fabrics are not considered faulty by Melanie Jayne.

SHOES

*If the shoes don't fit and you wish to return them or exchange them, please contact us to arrange for a Returns Authorisation Number. The Returns Authorisation Number must be visible on the outside of the packaging. Shoes returned without this authorisation number will be sent back to you.

*You will receive a refund for the purchase price of the shoes minus a 20% restocking fee which will be charged for all returns - (unless considered faulty).

* 20% restocking fee covers the original cost of the freight which we sent out to you free of charge and to put the shoes back into our inventory.

* If you wish to exchange your shoes for another size, if the shoe is not in stock in our inventory please allow up to 45 days for us to get you another size. A 20% restocking fee applies to all exchanges.

*Shoes must be returned in the same condition they were received in, complete with all original packaging within 14 days from when you receive the shoes.

*Soiled shoes returned with footprints / scuff marks under foot or any other damage caused by you will not be accepted.

*Return postage cost is your responsibility.

*No returns or exchanges once shoes/handbags have been dyed.
